Xbox 360 big not Duke or Dreamcast big but big. You can't name the controllers in the Steam UI but you can "identify" them and the force reactors play a little ditty.Once I did that it updated without issue. Had to turn off the Link, turn off the controller and turn it all back on again in order to get it to be recognized. Even though I could control the Link with it as soon as it connected and I kept getting a pop-up about an update it didn't show up in the Steam controller list. The controller didn't get recognized by Steam right away. (<- at that review not the process) Press the Steam button when it's off to turn it on. It works just like every console since the 360: hold the Steam button until the dialogue pops up and select "Turn off Steam Link". Don't recall if it was the Kyle/Sam review or Polygon's where they said they couldn't figure out how to turn on/off the Link.Pillarboxing persisted in SS2HD even after setting the resolution in-game to 1080p. If you don't have a 1080p monitor many (most?) games will be squashed or stretched on a 1080p TV. This is most likely due to using the ASIC encoder on the GPU. Image is a bit soft even on the highest quality setting. This is a dealbreaker until/if I get a wireless controller as there's no way I'm unplugging my main PC controller. Only thing I can think of is that my Logitech (that's attached directly to the PC) was being given priority by some games (Super Meat Boy was one and was unplayable). Gets confused by multiple controllers hooked up.On a several occasions it popped the view on my TV from the game and onto the spanned desktop. Needs much more contrast between selected and non-selected items when using a controller though. It uses hover style effects which are fine when you're seeing a big old cursor on the screen. UI navigation requires the thumbstick and isn't particularly clear where the "cursor" is.I'd really hoped they'd iterated the Big Picture mode more than this. The Link auto selected the correct HDMI port on my TV.Connected to my computer right away after updating.
